A relaxed autumn event rather than a one-off festival. Combine a tasting with a Sunday orchard tour if you want more than a quick sample.
Special event on 19 September
The Acorn Bank Watermill Celebrations runs from 10.30am to 3pm alongside the apple tasting. Visitors can see the working mill and the second waterwheel being brought back to life after nearly 100 years. The watermill event is free and does not require booking.

Free apple tasting
Drop in from 11am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays and taste whichever apples are ripe from the collection. The 2026 programme highlights 165 varieties, including fruit with surprisingly different flavours.
Sunday orchard tours
Free tours run Sundays from 6 September to 18 October, noon to 12.45pm.

The tastings are advertised as drop-in. Check the live National Trust listing for date-specific arrangements.
Normal visit costs
The apple activity is free, but normal Acorn Bank access and parking arrangements can still apply.
