Worth It
A relaxed autumn event rather than a one-off festival. Combine a tasting with a Sunday orchard tour if you want more than a quick sample.
Acorn Bank's Apple Weekends run from 5 September to 25 October 2026.
Free apple tasting
Drop in from 11am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays and taste whichever apples are ripe from the collection. The 2026 programme highlights 165 varieties, including fruit with surprisingly different flavours.
Sunday orchard tours
Free tours run Sundays from 6 September to 18 October, noon to 12.45pm.
Do you need to book?
The tastings are advertised as drop-in. Check the live National Trust listing for date-specific arrangements.
Normal visit costs
The apple activity is free, but normal Acorn Bank access and parking arrangements can still apply.
Accessibility
Wider garden, orchard and woodland surfaces vary. Check current National Trust access information if you need step-free routes.
Weather plan
Orchard activity is partly outdoors. Bring suitable footwear and clothing after wet weather.
