Commercial
disclosure
How commissions and paid placements work—and how we keep them distinct from independent recommendations.
Affiliate links
CumbriaGuru may earn a commission from selected booking links, at no extra cost to you.
Where content or a result is directly connected to an affiliate transaction, we identify its commercial nature before you engage with the link. Affiliate links use appropriate sponsored-link markup for search engines.
Sponsored placements
A business may pay for additional visibility. Paid placements are labelled Sponsored or with another clear advertising disclosure. Sponsorship can affect prominence, but it does not allow a business to buy a “Cumbria Guru favourite” label or edit an independent editorial verdict.
Editorial recommendations
Labels such as “Cumbria Guru favourite”, local guides and editorial verdicts are intended to reflect an editorial decision rather than payment. Complimentary visits, invitations or other material relationships should be disclosed in the relevant content where they could affect how readers understand it.
Prices and provider relationships
Prices and availability shown by booking or travel providers can change. Check the final price, taxes, fees, cancellation terms and accessibility details on the provider’s website before purchasing. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Cumbria Guru is not the seller and does not control the provider’s service.
Questions or concerns
If a commercial relationship appears unclear, email hello@cumbriaguru.com. We will review the presentation and correct it where necessary.
How advertisements are selected and measured
Advertising may be selected by page type, destination, town, place, category, device and campaign schedule. Commercial inventory is kept separate from organic ranking and editorial labels. We measure aggregate impressions, viewability and clicks, apply frequency and budget limits, and filter suspected automated activity. Advertising labels remain visible on every supported creative format.
