Our approach to making Cumbria Guru easier to perceive, understand and use.
Our commitment
We want as many people as possible to use Cumbria Guru, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, magnification, voice control or altered colour and motion settings. We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and will prioritise barriers that prevent people from planning or accessing information.
What you should be able to do
- Navigate core pages and controls using a keyboard.
- Skip repeated navigation and understand the page from its headings and landmarks.
- Zoom text and use the site on narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
- See visible focus indicators and use controls with accessible names.
- Reduce non-essential motion using your device preference.
Known limitations
We have not yet completed an independent WCAG audit. Some third-party maps, booking widgets, externally supplied images or older directory content may have incomplete alternative text, labelling or keyboard support. Third-party websites reached from Cumbria Guru have their own accessibility arrangements.
We are reviewing templates and prioritising fixes according to user impact. This statement will be updated as testing identifies specific issues or improvements are released.
Report a problem or request an alternative
Email hello@cumbriaguru.com with the page address, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you were using, if you are comfortable sharing that. You may also ask for information in an alternative format.
We will acknowledge accessibility reports and aim to provide a useful response or workaround as soon as reasonably possible.
