Late September 2026 visitor update
The seasonal Windermere Lake Cruises ferry between Lakeside and Fell Foot is advertised to run until Sunday 27 September 2026. This is a seasonal service and can be affected by conditions, including high water, so check the operator before travelling specifically for the crossing.

Stoked Watersports continues to advertise paddleboard, kayak and rowing-boat hire at Fell Foot through 3 October 2026. Booking is essential for the advertised sessions. The watersports meeting point is beside the boathouses and access from the car park includes a steep path and uneven surfaces.
Getting here without a car
Stagecoach service 6 stops outside Fell Foot and links Windermere, Bowness, Newby Bridge, Ulverston and Barrow. The National Trust specifically warns against using the X6 to Newby Bridge as a walking connection because there is no suitable pavement along that section of the A592.
Parking
Use the dedicated Fell Foot car park and check the current National Trust tariff on arrival. National Trust members should scan their membership card as instructed.
