Fell Foot is a National Trust lakeshore park at the southern end of Windermere. WatersportsStoked Watersports offers paddleboard, kayak, canoe and rowboat hire. Hourly sessions suit beginners and families, while experienced SUP users can choose pick-up-and-go hire. Active BaseChanging rooms, showers, lockers and underfloor heating are available. Day passes start at £2 and annual passes are £83. ParkingNon-members pay £7 for 2 hours, £8.50 for 4 hours or £10 all day. National Trust members and Blue Badge holders park free. BusStagecoach route 6 stops directly outside and links Windermere, Bowness, Newby Bridge, Ulverston and Barrow.

Worth It

One of the easiest Windermere bases for families who actually want to get near or onto the water. The café, play area, showers, changing rooms and boat hire make it far more useful than a simple picnic field.
