About Aldi Egremont
Aldi is opening a new supermarket at East Road and Wyndham Place in Egremont, and the retailer has now confirmed the store is part of its pre-Christmas 2026 opening programme.
The development is on the former East Road Esso garage site and is a completely new Aldi for Egremont.

When will Aldi Egremont open?
On 2 October 2026, Aldi UK published its full list of new and relocated stores due to open between then and Christmas. Egremont, Cumbria is explicitly included.
That confirms the store is currently expected to open before the end of 2026. Aldi has not published the exact Egremont opening day. The store is not open yet.
Where is it?
The store is being developed at Wyndham Place / East Road, Egremont, CA22 2EB, on the former East Road Esso garage site.
What is planned?
The approved scheme brings a purpose-built Aldi supermarket to Egremont with customer parking and electric vehicle charging. Aldi previously said its Egremont and Whitehaven developments represented a combined investment of around £14 million and around 50 new full-time jobs across the two stores.

Confirmed customer trading hours have not yet been published. Planning or premises-licence permissions should not be treated as the final shop timetable.
