Egremont Castle Park
A 2.8-acre green space surrounding Egremont's medieval castle ruins, within walking distance of the town centre and accessible from Bookwell Road.
Egremont Castle Park combines public green space with the remains of Egremont Castle. The park covers approximately 2.8 acres and is used for walking, running and informal outdoor visits. Access is available from Bookwell Road, close to the town centre and near local bus routes. The castle is a protected medieval monument rather than a staffed visitor attraction. There are no fixed opening sessions or ticket desk. Wear suitable footwear, supervise children around the ruins and take care on uneven or wet ground. Check local conditions before visiting after severe weather.
Our local note
A free, easy-to-combine heritage stop close to Egremont town centre. Allow time for the park and castle remains, but expect an informal outdoor site rather than a museum.
