What to expect
2–6 November 2026: Coniston Powerboat Records Week brings officially timed water-speed record attempts to Coniston Water. Organised by Windermere Motor Boat Racing Club under BPBA and CPA regulations, the event is based around Coniston Boating Centre.
Published operational times: attempts are planned from 8am each day. Monday–Thursday have an approximate noon–2pm stand-down. On Friday 6 November there is no planned lunch break, the last attempt must start by 2pm, and prize giving is scheduled for 9pm at the Coniston Institute. Runs are strictly subject to weather, safety and officials' decisions.
For spectators: specialist reporting says general public-shore viewing is free; pits, launching areas and safety zones are not open-access. Use authorised parking in Coniston village or at Coniston Boating Centre if visitor spaces remain available. Stagecoach service 505 changes to its winter timetable on 2 November. Check the official organiser for daily access instructions and avoid launching personal craft into managed record-attempt areas.
