Keswick Tourist Information Is Back with New Booths Visitor Service

Lake District National Park staff are now available inside Booths every day from 10am to 4pm in a trial running until the end of October.

Keswick once again has a staffed face-to-face visitor information service, with a new Lake District National Park information counter inside Booths supermarket.

The dedicated counter near the store exit is staffed by National Park Authority employees every day from 10am to 4pm.

Where is it?

Inside Booths Keswick, Tithebarn Street, Keswick, CA12 5EA, close to Keswick bus station and within easy walking distance of the town centre.

What can staff help with?

Staff can advise on local routes, activity facilities, fell and water safety, responsible visiting and general ideas for exploring the Lake District. Visitor leaflets are also available.

What happened to the Moot Hall tourist information centre?

The former National Park tourist information centre in the Moot Hall closed on 31 January 2026. The Booths counter is the new staffed National Park service during the current trial period.

Parking at Booths

Booths uses ANPR parking. The first hour is currently free, with an option to buy a second hour. Café customers can receive an additional hour under the store's current arrangement by registering their vehicle. Read the signs when you arrive.

Is it permanent?

Not yet. The service is being trialled through summer until the end of October 2026, after which it will be reviewed ahead of 2027.
