Whitehaven West Pier Lighthouse
Historic Whitehaven harbour pier and lighthouse. West Pier pedestrian access is suspended following Storm Boelo damage reported 25 October 2026; harbour vessel access is not generally closed.
Safety status checked 29 October 2026: West Pier pedestrian access is temporarily suspended after storm damage to the lighthouse power supply. Do not enter the pier or pass barriers. Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners will confirm reopening; no date has been announced.The lighthouse is an important historic harbour landmark. The rest of Whitehaven remains a visitor destination, but restrictions on individual piers and navigational lights must be checked separately. Read the full West Pier closure guide.
