The Owl & Pussycat
A large family-friendly Hungry Horse pub on Hindpool Road with breakfast, pub meals, daily deals, a Wacky Warehouse soft-play area, outdoor play, parking and accessible facilities.
About The Owl & Pussycat
The Owl & Pussycat is one of Barrow-in-Furness’s most useful family dining options because it combines a large Hungry Horse pub restaurant with dedicated play facilities. It sits on Hindpool Road within easy reach of the town centre and The Dock Museum, making it a practical stop before or after a family day out.
Food covers breakfast through to evening meals, with the chain’s familiar mix of pub classics, burgers, grills and children’s dishes. Hungry Horse also runs rotating daily deals, so the cheapest offer depends on the day and current promotion rather than a single permanent price.

The standout for families is the Wacky Warehouse indoor soft-play area, supported by outdoor play, a kids’ menu and party options. The venue also lists disabled facilities, free Wi-Fi, a car park and coach acceptance, which makes it easier to use for larger family groups than many smaller town-centre restaurants.
Current pub opening is 9am to 10pm every day, with food served from 9am to 9pm. Play sessions, promotions and party prices can operate on separate terms, so check the live venue page if soft play is a key reason for visiting.
Our local note
Probably Barrow’s easiest all-in-one family meal: plenty of choice, parking and proper indoor play. It is a chain pub rather than a destination restaurant, but for families that convenience is the point.
