Light & Salt Provisions
A community-focused eatery opening at The Railway Inn in Lindal-in-Furness, built around traceable local produce, events and pay-what-you-can meals.
About Light & Salt Provisions
The kitchen intends to focus on traceable local produce, including meat sourced with clear information about where it has come from. Alongside its regular food offer, Light & Salt has announced plans for monthly pay-what-you-can Sunday lunches, designed to make a good meal accessible regardless of a customer's circumstances.
The Railway Inn is at 6 London Road in Lindal-in-Furness, between Barrow and Ulverston. The venue has previously traded as a pub and restaurant and is being reworked for the new community-led concept.
The business is targeting a summer 2026 opening, but a final public launch date, regular menu and weekly opening hours are still to be confirmed. Check the official website before travelling, particularly for launch events, fundraising meals and limited-capacity community sessions.
Our local note
A genuinely interesting Furness opening with a stronger community purpose than the average restaurant. Add it to the watchlist now and check the launch date before planning a visit.
