An 18th-century red sandstone bridge over the River Eden with riverside views, parking nearby and access to the Eden Benchmarks sculpture trail.
About Lazonby Eden Bridge and Riverside
Eden Bridge is the point where Lazonby really meets the river. The handsome red sandstone bridge carries the road towards Kirkoswald and is an easy place to stop for a short riverside wander.
The bridge dates from the 18th century and is Grade II listed. A parking area on the Lazonby side gives access to the riverbank and to Cypher Piece, one of the Eden Benchmarks sculptures created for a trail along the River Eden.

What is there to do?
This is more of a scenic stop than a formal attraction. Come for photographs, a short walk and the peaceful valley setting, or use it as part of a longer day around Lazonby and Kirkoswald.
River safety
The Eden is a powerful river and levels can rise quickly after rain. Keep well back from fast water, avoid flooded paths and supervise children closely near the bank.
Our local note
A worthwhile little stop while you are already in Lazonby. The bridge, river and open valley views give a much better sense of the place than simply driving through the village.
