Stickle Barn sits at the gateway to Great Langdale, making it a natural stop before or after valley walks. It also hosts live music, weddings and festivals including Sticklefest. Private events and seasonal closures override normal hours, so always check the live notice before a special journey.
Parking and public transport
Stickle Ghyll car park is the obvious nearby parking base, but it can fill early and uses National Trust/JustPark arrangements. The 516 bus serves Great Langdale from Ambleside and is usually the better choice on busy weekends. Never park on verges or obstruct the narrow B5343.
Naming note
Older searches may use Sticklebarn, Stickle Barn or National Trust Sticklebarn. The current operator brands the business as Lanty Slee's Langdale and refers to the building as Stickle Barn. These are not separate visitor attractions and should not have competing Place records.
Our local note
A characterful fell-foot café, pub and music venue in an exceptional location. Check private-event notices and valley transport before travelling.
