The Apple Pie Cafe & Bakery has been part of Ambleside since 1975 and is one of the town’s best-known places for breakfast, lunch, coffee and something sweet after a walk. The independent family business bakes on site, with breads, cakes, pastries and savoury items feeding both the bakery counter and the café.Its Rydal Road position opposite the Bridge House area makes it an easy stop during a day in town, but popularity means it can be busy at peak times. The bakery is useful for takeaway food before a walk as well as a sit-down café visit. Menus and opening times change seasonally, so check the current information if you are planning around a particular service.
