A simple but very visual family trail that encourages children to explore the historic rooms closely while connecting directly with The Tale of Two Bad Mice.

Mischief in Miniature runs at Hill Top from 15 August to 13 December 2026 on the property's operating days. Needle-felted versions of Hunca Munca and Tom Thumb are hidden around the rooms of Hill Top in miniature scenes inspired by The Tale of Two Bad Mice and imagined adventures at the farmhouse. Tiny candles and lanterns form part of the trail. The experience accompanies Pets to Page: The Tale of Two Bad Mice and is aimed at visitors of all ages, with particular family appeal. There is no separate event charge, but normal Hill Top admission applies. Hill Top's current main visitor guidance says pre-booking is required for everyone, including National Trust members. Opening times change later in the season, so check the current calendar for your date.
