Worth It

A rare chance to sample several Kendal acts and venues without a ticket. Build a realistic walking schedule and leave gaps for food and capacity queues.

Kendal Music Festival returns on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September 2026. Kendal BID organises the free town-centre celebration, with local and touring artists performing across pubs, bars, cafés and outdoor spaces.

Brewery Arts programme

Brewery Arts publishes a 12pm to 9pm festival window on both days, with free entry and no booking. Its detailed Friday line-up ends at 9.30pm, so visitors should allow for that later published finish and check for same-day changes.

Friday

  • Tom Owen, 2.30pm-3.30pm
  • Rhiannon Paige, 4pm-4.45pm
  • Sarah Carey, 7.30pm-8pm
  • Freyja Evelyn, 8.20pm-9.30pm

Saturday

  • Hiroshima Twinkie, 2pm-4pm
  • Life In Neon, 4.45pm-6.15pm
  • The Peloton, 7pm-9pm

Friday is programmed in the Brewery Arts Bar. Saturday moves into the garden, with the Malt Room named as the wet-weather fallback. Food and drink are sold throughout and table reservations are not required for the festival.

Wider Kendal programme

The wider festival uses multiple walkable venues in Kendal town centre. The official app carries the developing full line-up and lets visitors save acts and build a schedule. Accessibility varies by venue.

Travel

Kendal station is within walking distance of the centre. Oxenholme Lake District connects with the Lakes Line. Drivers can use public car parks, but the organiser recommends public transport or walking where possible to reduce congestion.

Accessibility

Accessibility varies between town-centre venues. Contact an individual venue about step-free access, seating, toilets or companion arrangements. Brewery Arts access differs by room.

Weather plan

Saturday's Brewery Arts programme is planned for the garden, with the Malt Room as the advertised bad-weather fallback. Check the official app for changes.
