Turn directly from the seaward side of the B5300 into the small gravel parking area at the southern edge of Allonby. Slow down before the open pull-in because the entrance is easy to pass.

Allonby South Car Park is a small gravel parking area on the seaward side of the B5300 at the southern edge of Allonby. It gives direct access to Allonby Bay, the beach and the coastal walking route.
Cumberland Council's current off-street parking order lists Allonby's southern parking areas as free, with a maximum stay of eight hours, no return within one hour and no overnight occupancy. Cars, motorcycles and vehicles not exceeding 3.5 tonnes are permitted in the designated parking area.
The council does not currently publish an official bay count. The six-space capacity used here is the only specific published figure found for this exact southern parking location and should be treated as a practical capacity rather than a council-certified total. The parking surface was included in Cumberland Council's 2025 programme of regrading and repair work.
This is a compact, informal coastal car park with no marked accessible bay or on-site toilet. Public toilets, the children's play area, cafés and other village facilities are further north in central Allonby. Always check signs on arrival because local restrictions and the usable layout can change.

The car park is beside Allonby Bay and provides immediate access to the beach and the England Coast Path. It is useful for short coastal walks, sea views, sunsets, dog walking and exploring the quieter southern end of the village.
Central Allonby, the village green, cafés, pub, play area and public toilets are a short distance north along the seafront.
Alternative car parks
Allonby Main Car Park is a larger seafront option opposite Jack's Surf Bar. Allonby Central Car Park is beside the play area and council public toilets. Allonby North Car Park serves the quieter northern beach.
