Yes. Cumberland Council's current schedule lists the car park as free, open on all days and at all hours, with a maximum stay of 8 hours. There is no return within 1 hour and no overnight occupancy.
Vehicles must remain in designated parking areas. Motor cars, motorcycles and heavy motor cars not exceeding 3.5 tonnes are permitted. Motorhomes and campervans within that class can park during the day, but overnight occupation or sleeping in a vehicle is prohibited.

Current Cumbria Wildlife Trust information identifies its North Allonby Beach meeting point as Allonby North car park, CA15 6QQ. The map pin used by Cumbria Guru, approximately 54.778862, -3.430482, identifies the seafront green/parking area immediately north of the village. This is a practical mapped location rather than a surveyed entrance coordinate published by Cumberland Council.
How many parking spaces are there?
Cumberland Council does not publish a numerical capacity for Allonby North Car Park. The council's 2025 maintenance programme also refers to three car parks immediately north of the village. Because the public operator information does not clearly divide and number the capacity of each physical section, Cumbria Guru deliberately does not present a guessed space count.
North Allonby Beach and wildlife
The northern parking area is particularly useful for accessing the quieter northern stretch of Allonby Bay. Cumbria Wildlife Trust has used the car park as the meeting point for organised North Allonby Beach events, underlining its practical role for beach access and coastal conservation activity.
The Solway coast is valuable for wildlife and can be exposed to wind and tides. Keep dogs and children under appropriate control, respect any temporary conservation notices and check tide and weather conditions before longer shore walks.
Facilities
No current council source confirms dedicated toilets within this exact northern parking area. Allonby's council public toilets are in central Allonby beside the children's play area. Food, drink and other village facilities are also concentrated farther south.
If the recognised northern parking areas are busy, use Allonby Central, Main or South rather than blocking the B5300, entrances, verges or access routes.
