Syke Farm Campsite is a long-established, back-to-basics campsite in Buttermere village, placing walkers within easy reach of both Buttermere and Crummock Water.
The site says it has space for around 50 tents, with parking for around 40 cars. Campervans up to roughly 5-6 metres and TentBoxes are accepted in designated parking areas, but there are no electric hook-ups.

Facilities include toilets and coin-operated hot showers. Dogs are welcome subject to the site rules and should be kept on leads on the campsite. Syke Farm also offers glamping accommodation including a shepherd's hut and yurts.
The site can fill during busy periods, so advance booking is sensible. Conditions on a working farm and in a mountain valley can be affected by wet weather.
