Performance Padel Kendal
A new five-court indoor padel club at Castle Mills in Kendal, with year-round play, changing facilities, a café and court bookings through Playtomic.
About Performance Padel Kendal
Performance Padel Kendal is a new indoor padel centre at Unit 20, Castle Mills Business Park on Aynam Road. The Kendal venue opened in summer 2026 and brings a dedicated year-round padel facility to the South Lakes. The venue occupies approximately 19,000 square feet of former warehouse space. Commercial property information published during the development described five indoor padel courts, changing facilities and a café, creating a substantial purpose-built racket-sport venue rather than a single court added to an existing leisure centre. Padel is normally played as doubles on an enclosed court using solid rackets and a low-compression ball. The walls form part of play, making the sport relatively easy to pick up while still offering plenty of depth for regular players.

The indoor setting makes Performance Padel particularly useful as a wet-weather activity in Kendal and as an evening option throughout the year. Bookings are handled through Playtomic, the booking platform promoted by Performance Padel. Visitors should check live court availability, session length, current prices, racket hire, coaching, social sessions and beginner offers before travelling. Prices can vary by time and session type. Current published club hours are 6am to 11pm every day. These extended hours refer to the club operating window and do not necessarily mean the café, staffed reception or every service is available throughout the full period. The venue is at Castle Mills, a mixed leisure and business site beside the River Kent, a short distance from central Kendal. Westmorland and Furness Council planning records confirm the approved change of use of Unit 20 from warehouse space to an indoor padel tennis facility. The council premises-licensing register also identifies Performance Padel at Unit 20, Castle Mills, Aynam Road, Kendal, LA9 7DE. Visitors who need step-free access, adapted facilities, accessible changing arrangements or specific equipment should contact the club before booking. Parking arrangements can be affected by other businesses and events at Castle Mills, so follow current on-site signage rather than assuming unrestricted parking.
Our local note
One of Kendal's strongest new indoor activities. Five covered courts and long daily opening hours make it especially useful for rainy days, evening plans and visitors who already play padel. Book before travelling.
