About Percy House Gallery
Percy House Gallery is as interesting for the building as for the work on display. The Market Place property is one of Cockermouth's oldest surviving town houses, with historic features including old beams, fireplaces and decorative plasterwork providing an atmospheric backdrop to contemporary arts and crafts.
Across its rooms, the gallery has traditionally showcased jewellery, textiles, glass, ceramics, metalwork, wood, paintings and photography. Stock changes as makers supply new pieces, making it useful both for browsing and for finding a more distinctive Cumbrian gift.
The gallery is in the historic Market Place area, close to Castlegate House Gallery, J.B. Banks and the route towards Cockermouth Castle. Opening patterns can change, so check locally before making a special journey.
