Grasmere Distillery
Tiny grain-to-glass distillery at Lake View Farm making gin, vodka, beer, cider and experimental whisky in Grasmere, with bookable tours and tastings.
About Grasmere Distillery
Grasmere Distillery is a genuinely local producer rather than simply a brand using the village name. At its small working site at Lake View Farm, the team ferments and distils from scratch, producing Grasmere gin and vodka alongside beer and cider, while laying down limited batches of English single malt whisky.
Visitors can book appointment-only distillery tours and tastings. The experience is deliberately small scale and gives an unusually close look at the production process. The business says its copper stills are powered using recycled vegetable oil from its taproom, and its new-make whisky spirit received a Gold Medal at the World Whisky Masters in 2025.
Tours must be arranged in advance rather than treated as a drop-in attraction. The Distiller’s Arms in the village is the distillery taproom and serves drinks made by the same team, so it makes a natural pairing before or after a tour. Check the official website for current tour formats and availability.
Our local note
One of Grasmere’s most distinctive modern attractions: small-scale, genuinely made in the village and much more interesting than a generic tasting room.
