Cartmel Village Shop
The Cartmel shop where the famous Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding was first created, with handmade puddings, sauces, gifts and online ordering.
Cartmel Village Shop is known as the birthplace of Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding. The pudding began in the back kitchen of the village shop and the business says its puddings continue to be made by hand using natural ingredients. Visitors can buy the pudding and related products from the shop in Cartmel, while a national online shop offers chilled puddings, sauces, chocolates and hampers. Production later moved to a larger bakery in nearby Flookburgh, but the Cartmel shop remains the visitor-facing home of the brand. Product availability, takeaway service and opening hours can change, so check the official website before travelling.
Our local note
An essential Cumbrian food stop and the original home of one of the county's best-known desserts.
