About Amato's

Amato's is a family-run Sicilian restaurant on the cobbles of Abbey Street in Carlisle's historic quarter, between the cathedral, castle and Tullie. It was created by siblings Filippo and Rosa Amato, drawing on their family's Sicilian heritage and Filippo's extensive professional cooking experience.

Food is prepared freshly in the open kitchen, with Italian and Sicilian dishes, children's choices, desserts and drinks. The restaurant publishes gluten-free pasta and sauce options, although customers with allergies must still discuss their requirements directly. Tables are often booked in advance, so telephone rather than relying on a last-minute contact-form response. Menus, dining offers and service times should be checked before visiting.
