Worth It
A more atmospheric way to see the Moon, with the optional high-level view making it especially distinctive.
Moon Lates transform Museum of the Moon after normal daytime visiting.
Confirmed dates are 2, 3, 9, 22, 28 and 29 October and 1 November 2026. Atmospheric lighting and immersive sound change the feel of the Cathedral after hours.
Moon View Tour
The optional tour climbs narrow sandstone staircases to clerestory level for a bird's-eye view of the Moon and star-painted ceiling, then higher for an unusual view towards the East Window.
Tickets
Entry-only tickets are £7.50; entry plus Moon View Tour is £15. Ages 14+. A pop-up bar is planned.
Times
The public visitor listing confirms all seven dates and prices but does not publish exact start/end times. Cumbria Guru has deliberately not invented them. Check the live booking page and your ticket for the correct arrival time.
Accessibility
Moon View Tours use narrow historic staircases and high interior levels. Check suitability before booking.
