Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Lights Switch-On 2026

Kirkby Lonsdale switches on its Christmas lights at 6pm on Friday 4 December as the three-day Christmas Fair begins.

What to expect

Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Fair opens on Friday 4 December, with a festive lantern walk leaving the Town Information Centre at 4.30pm, a lantern parade setting off from St Mary’s Church at 5.30pm and Father Christmas joining the lights switch-on at 6pm in Market Square. Shopping and festive entertainment continue through Saturday and Sunday.
