Worth It
A useful free finale to Kendal Heritage Open Days, with enough family activity to work as a destination event rather than simply another heritage listing.
Kendal's Heritage Open Week ends with a free Autumn Fete in Abbot Hall Park on Sunday 20 September, from noon to 4pm.
Kendal Town Council's programme includes food and drink, a craft-ale marquee, gin and prosecco, doughnuts and sweet treats, Bollywood and Bhangra dance exhibitions, kite making, henna tattoos, comic-arts activities, community and charity stalls and information about applying to become Kendal's next Town Crier.
Make a Kendal day of it
The fete sits beside Abbot Hall and Kendal Parish Church, making it easy to combine with the final Heritage Open Days programme. Cumbria Guru's existing Kendal Heritage Open Days guide includes today's Parish Church tours at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Parking
Use established Kendal town-centre parking and walk to Abbot Hall Park. The park itself should not be treated as event parking. Allow extra time because a free town-centre event can increase demand.
The council confirms the overall noon-4pm programme but does not publish a complete minute-by-minute performance timetable on the current listing, so Cumbria Guru does not invent one.
