Worth It
A strong free weekend event if you enjoy art, craft or buying directly from regional makers. The easy road access and free parking make it simple to add to a south Cumbria day.
The inaugural J36 Art Fair runs from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026 at Junction 36 Exhibition Centre in Crooklands. Green Door Artists is bringing together more than 60 artists, makers, galleries and creative organisations from Cumbria, North Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales.
Expect painting, original prints, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography and contemporary work, with the chance to speak directly to artists. There is a pop-up café, free admission and free parking.
The organiser's confirmed times are Friday 4pm to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm. These organiser times take priority over a Visit Lake District feed that currently shows anomalous extra ten minutes on Friday and Saturday.
The venue is close to M6 Junction 36 and the event is AA signposted from the M6 sliproads, A65, A590 and A6070. Public transport is limited, so plan carefully if travelling without a car.
