Worth It
Advance free daytime tickets are planned to control capacity but are not yet on sale. Camping, glamping, motorhome and race-route shuttle details are still to come.
Cartmel Racecourse will host a free daytime festival with live Tour de France coverage on giant screens, family cycling activities, continental food and drink and secure bike parking. Daytime admission is planned to be free, but advance tickets will be required to manage capacity.
A separately ticketed live-entertainment event is planned for Saturday evening.
Across the village, plans include yellow decorations, Cartmel Priory illuminated in yellow, a children's bike school, pump track, cycle-route information and bike-repair facilities. Camping, glamping and motorhome pitches are also planned alongside Cartmel's existing hotels, inns, B&Bs and self-catering accommodation.
Organisers also plan shuttle transport from Cartmel towards the Tour route, with details, prices and operating times still to be announced.
The event coincides with Stage One finishing in Carlisle on Friday 2 July and Stage Two starting in Keswick on Saturday 3 July before heading south through the Lake District. Exact Village du Tour ticket release dates, Saturday-night entertainment, campsite prices and shuttle arrangements are still to be confirmed.
Accessibility
Cartmel Racecourse is mainly an outdoor grass venue with uneven surfaces. Detailed Village du Tour access arrangements will be published closer to July 2027.
Weather plan
Outdoor July festival. Bring layers, water and sun protection; wet ground is possible even in summer.
