Worth It
A strong autumn indoor option for visitors interested in photography, industrial landscapes and the relationship between quarrying and the Lake District.
The work explores abandoned and altered quarry landscapes, with photographs made over the previous two years largely in the Lake District National Park, alongside images from the marble quarries of Carrara in Italy.
The exhibition considers geology, extraction, weathering and the way nature begins to reclaim worked landscapes. It is curated by Julian Cooper and is shown alongside one of Cooper's paintings.
The Heaton Cooper Studio's current exhibition calendar lists Max Boardman from 10 September to 25 October 2026.
The Studio is in central Grasmere with public parking nearby. The gallery currently advertises daily opening from 9am to 5.30pm. Check current exhibition-specific admission information before travel.
