Worth It
Harrington Marina Day takes place on Saturday 29 August 2026 from 10am to 4pm at Harrington Marina, south of Workington.
The community event combines free and low-cost family entertainment around the waterfront. The published programme includes live music, a children's entertainer, shire horses, live wood carving, a fire-service car-cutting demonstration, lifeboats, ambulances, police, food and drink vendors, stalls, sports demonstrations, a fairground and bouncy castles.
How much does it cost?
The organisers describe the day as offering cheap or free entertainment and activities. Do not assume every fairground ride, inflatable or vendor is free: individual operators may charge.
Getting there by train or bus
Harrington railway station is a very short walk from the marina. The number 52 Stagecoach service also serves Harrington, making public transport a sensible option for a busy event day.
Driving
From the A597, turn into Church Road towards Harrington Marina and follow the road beneath the railway bridge. Local access and parking can be busier or altered during the event, so follow temporary signs and steward instructions.
Weather and waterfront safety
This is an outdoor event beside open water. Bring suitable clothing for coastal weather, supervise children carefully and stay clear of operational marina areas unless directed by event staff.
Weather plan
Outdoor coastal event beside open water. Bring weather-appropriate clothing and check current event updates in poor conditions.
