Worth It

The first of Cartmel's two August Bank Holiday fixtures. A two-day ticket is better value for visitors attending both Saturday and Monday.

Cartmel Cup Day takes place at Cartmel Racecourse on Saturday 29 August 2026 as the first day of the August Bank Holiday race meeting.

Tickets checked on 6 August 2026:
Course Adult: £25
Paddock Adult: £35
Full Fixture two-day Course ticket for 29 and 31 August: £45
Full Fixture two-day Paddock ticket for 29 and 31 August: £65

General admission for racegoers aged 17 and under is free on this standard race day when accompanied by a paying adult. Under-18 tickets should be added to the adult booking.

The Course ticket provides access to the Course Enclosure. The Paddock ticket provides access to both the Paddock and Course Enclosures.

Exact gate-opening and race times had not been published when this listing was checked. The racecourse says times will be added when available and may be subject to change.

Visitors may bring their own picnic food and drink, including alcohol, subject to the racecourse rules. Food and drink concessions and the funfair are also expected to operate.

Dogs are welcome outdoors but must remain on a lead and are not permitted in indoor venues. Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas.

Parking:
Pre-booked Paddock or Course parking costs £10 per car. Free public parking is available at Seven Acres on race days. All on-the-day parking is on the Course side. Follow the temporary yellow event signs and not sat-nav directions because local lanes operate with race-day one-way systems.

Public transport:
Cark-in-Cartmel is the nearest railway station, around two miles from the racecourse. Any independent shuttle service should be checked directly before travelling.

Check the official ticket page and race-day information shortly before travelling because prices, availability, race times and operational arrangements can change.

Accessibility

Cartmel Racecourse is mainly outdoors, with uneven grass surfaces and limited shelter. Accessible toilets are provided on both sides. Pre-booked Blue Badge parking costs £10, with additional free Blue Badge spaces at Seven Acres. An eligible personal assistant may receive a complimentary ticket after a Paddock Adult ticket is purchased and the application is approved.

Weather plan

Outdoor event on mainly grassy, uneven ground. Conditions can be wet or muddy, so check the forecast and bring suitable footwear, waterproofs or sun protection as required.
