The official 2026 programme begins with turnout classes at 9.30am, followed by poultry, Fell Pony and Miniature Shetland Pony classes from 10am.

Open sheepdog trials also begin at 10am in the field adjacent to the showground.

The fell races

Fell racing is woven directly into the show programme, with junior races from 12.30pm and the adult race at 1.30pm.

Anyone intending to race rather than simply spectate should check the organiser's entry information and current fell-race rules before show day.

Where is Loweswater Show?

The show takes place in the Lorton Valley opposite New House Farm, in the Loweswater and Brackenthwaite area west of Cockermouth.

It is a rural showground rather than a permanent visitor attraction. Follow the organiser's show-day signs and steward directions on the final approach rather than relying only on a map pin.

Parking and access

The official site confirms the visitor programme and showground location but visitors should follow temporary parking signs on the day. Rural roads around Loweswater and Lorton are narrow, and traffic can build around show opening time.

If you are staying nearby, allow extra time rather than trying to arrive immediately before a particular class or race.

Dogs at Loweswater Show

Dogs are welcome on the showfield provided they are kept on a lead. They are not permitted inside the marquees.

This is useful to know before travelling because the show includes livestock, horses and working dogs throughout the day.

Combine the show with Loweswater

The event sits in one of the quieter parts of the western Lake District. If you are staying for the weekend, use the Cumbria Guru Loweswater guide for walks, Holme Wood, Holme Force and parking information.

Information checked 17 August 2026 against the official Loweswater Show website. The confirmed 2026 show date is Sunday 6 September.
