Bagheera in the Lakes is a forthcoming South Indian restaurant and café at 20 Station Street in Keswick. It is the latest project from George and Meera Cherian, the experienced local restaurateurs associated with Merienda in Keswick and The Ivy House in Braithwaite. The concept has grown from Bagheera's popular South Indian street-food stall at Keswick Market and from a series of sell-out Indian dining events. The restaurant is intended to combine the mountains and lakes of South India with the fells and lakes of Cumbria, using aromatic spices and quality local ingredients in a relaxed town-centre setting. The public restaurant menu had not been fully released when this listing was prepared. Current official and booking information points towards South Indian-inspired breakfast and brunch, coffee, cocktails and casual dining.
