About Watchtree Nature Reserve
Watchtree Nature Reserve is a 205-acre wildlife and community site on the Solway Plain, around six miles south-west of Carlisle. Its network of accessible trails passes through a mix of habitats, with views towards the northern Lake District and across the wider Solway landscape.
Watchtree Wheelers operates a fleet of more than 100 cycles suited to different ages and abilities, making the reserve particularly valuable for inclusive and traffic-free cycling. Entry and parking are free, although donations support the charity and charges apply for cycle hire and selected events. A coffee shop serves homemade food and drinks. Dogs must remain on leads, and visitors should check current trail, bike-hire, access and weather information before setting out.
