St Martin’s Church is one of the key historic buildings in Bowness-on-Windermere and a quiet counterpoint to the busy waterfront nearby. There has been a church on or close to this site for many centuries, and the present building contains fabric and features from different periods of Bowness history. It remains an active Church of England parish church as well as a place visitors can appreciate for architecture, stained glass and local heritage.
The church stands on Lake Road in the older part of Bowness, only a short walk from the piers, Ash Street and St Martin’s Parade.
