Millom Rock Park
Outdoor geology attraction beside Ghyll Scaur Quarry, displaying large rock specimens and interpretation of the local landscape, geology and quarrying.
Millom Rock Park is an unusual outdoor attraction beside Ghyll Scaur Quarry, north-west of Millom. Large rock specimens from the quarry and elsewhere in Cumbria are displayed with interpretation explaining local geology and quarrying. The park also provides a vantage point towards the working quarry and can be combined with paths around Millom Park. The Rock Park received improvements that were officially opened in November 2025, giving this long-established community project a useful refresh. This is an outdoor site beside an active quarry landscape rather than a staffed visitor attraction. Stay within public areas, follow safety signs and supervise children carefully.
Our local note
A quirky and worthwhile free stop that gives Millom another story beyond mining and coast, especially good when combined with Millom Park.
