Raines Hall Farm is a working farm so as well as Cattle, Sheep and various breeds of Pig, there are also Ferrets, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Llamas, Alpacas, Goats, Ponies and Donkeys. With plenty of different animals to see, everyone is sure to find a favourite!
Raines Hall Farm, the home of Lakeland Maze Farm Park has been owned by the Wadsworth family for over 100 years. A family farm which has always been busy, is now a fun place for all to visit and enjoy.
Once a dairy farm housing over 200 cattle, many of the buildings on site today have been converted, the pet barn being the old milking parlour and the ferret hut the old bull pen.
Still a working farm to this day, we now focus on farming 16,000 free range laying chickens down at our hen shed which is opposite the farm park attraction. Our on site tractor ride takes you on a tour of the farm and some of the many acres of land that the chickens get to roam. We also farm pigs on a small scale, with their meat being used in our cafe kitchen and for sale in our on site self service egg shop and from our farm park gift shop.
n 2004, owners Graham and Jane decided to grow a maize maze and open their doors to the public. Since then the park has expanded to include play equipment, petting areas, purpose built all weather mazes, a café, soft play area and so much more. Each year something new and exciting happens, so no visit is ever the same!
Raines Hall remains the Wadsworth’s family home and all generations of the family still get stuck in. Edmund can be found tinkering with his vintage tractors or cutting the grass and Graham is often down at the hen shed as well as being busy all over the farm.
