Cockermouth Golf Club
Elevated golf course east of Cockermouth with fell views, an 18-hole layout and a clubhouse serving members and visiting golfers.
About Cockermouth Golf Club
Cockermouth Golf Club sits on elevated ground a few miles east of the town, where the open setting provides broad views across the surrounding Cumbrian landscape. The 18-hole course is associated with the work of renowned course designer James Braid and offers a very different Lake District experience from the better-known walking and watersports attractions.
Visitors should check current tee availability, green fees and competition days before setting out. The exposed location means weather can have a significant effect on playing conditions, so suitable clothing is sensible even when the forecast in town looks settled.
The clubhouse provides facilities for golfers and makes the course a practical half-day activity for visitors based in Cockermouth or the northern Lakes.
Our local note
A scenic alternative to a day on the fells, with an elevated course and big Cumbrian views only a short drive from Cockermouth.
