About Bitts Park

Bitts Park is a large public green space on Dacre Road between Carlisle city centre and the River Eden. It combines formal gardens and open lawns with riverside paths, play facilities and sports areas, making it useful for both a relaxed city walk and a family stop.

Facilities include a fenced children's playground with inclusive equipment, a seasonal and temperature-dependent splash park, skate park, outdoor gym, running routes and public toilets. Hadrian's Wall National Trail follows the riverside boundary. Distinct areas include Victoria Park, The Hollow, the Garden of Memories and a wildlife-focused Riverside Trail. Check splash-park operation, event activity and ground conditions before travelling specifically for one facility.
