Bassenthwaite Lake Station

A beautifully restored Victorian railway stop on the former Cockermouth–Keswick–Penrith line, Bassenthwaite Lake Station is now a standout train-themed café and restaurant set a few minutes from the A66. The star attraction is a full-size steam locomotive with period dining carriages, a film-quality replica that gives you the theatre of classic rail travel with Lake District views of Skiddaw, Dodd Wood and Bassenthwaite Lake.
