What to expect
Details checked against organiser information on 17 September 2026.
Santa's Secret Grotto at Honister runs from 14 November to 23 December 2026 on selected dates. The experience takes Christmas underground into the working slate mine, with an elf workshop, festive chambers, Father Christmas and a gift.
Spaces are limited and Honister says the event sells out every year, so this is one to book rather than leave until the day. Check the booking page for age, access and individual session requirements before paying.
See how it fits into a northern Lakes break in the Lake District Christmas 2026 guide.
Weather plan
Underground experience but travel is through a high mountain pass; check winter road and weather conditions.
