A Pocket Guide That Brings the Cumbrian Coast to Life

We were recently lucky enough to be gifted a copy of “Cumbria Coast – 40 Coast & Country Walks”, a brilliant little pocket guide. As a family who love getting out and about in Cumbria whenever we can, this was absolutely up our street.

The guide features 40 walks on and around the gorgeous Cumbrian coast, all suitable for walkers of moderate ability; ideal for families or for anyone who doesn’t always fancy a full fell day. The routes vary in length and can be easily adapted to suit the time you have, whether you’re after a long, leisurely wander or a quick after-work stomp.

The Cumbria Guru family recently completed part of Walk 8: Parton and Harrington. As you can see from the video, the views were stunning and the walk itself was pleasantly straightforward.

Each route includes enough detail to get you around confidently, though a few extra waypoints wouldn’t go amiss. The illustrations, however, more than capture the charm of the Cumbrian coastline, a truly beautiful stretch of the county that’s all too often overshadowed by the Lake District.
